2016: Soaps

In 2016 work by Amie Dicke formed part of a group show inside Amsterdam’s oldest building, the Oude Kerk. Titled ‘Once in a Lifetime,’ the show invited artists to reflect on the transitory nature of life.
In two glass vitrines Dicke exhibited meticulously arranged rows of highlights from her vast collection of second-hand soaps which she had started to amass after a long-treasured bar of Nina Ricci L’Air du Temps soap outlived her grandmother.
Fellow artists in the show included Job Koelewijn, Stan Brakhage and Michaël Borremans and was curated by Nina Folkersma.
